The Philippine Children’s Hunger Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established by Colin Aldridge, JoAnn Gavic and Heather Smyth to help improve the way of living of poor children in the Philippines. In the many travels of International Director Larry MacKay, he saw firsthand the suffering of many Filipino children and their families. Over the years, because of the generosity of friends and donors, Philippine Children's Hunger Fund had provided funding for programs that fostered the overall well-being of poor children in the Philippines. Those initiatives included Christian education, clothing, shelter, food and medical care. PCHF supplied much-needed medical equipment, medical supplies and humanitarian aid to hospitals and clinics in the Philippines. Often, those supplies had meant the difference between life and death for the children in hospitals and clinics. PCHF also provided emergency assistance to victims of natural disasters, such as typhoons, mud slides and flooding, as well as emotional, spiritual and financial support whenever possible.
At each feeding program, children received food and a Christian children’s program that ncluded skits, singing, and other entertainment suited for children.
Conducted medical clinics where volunteer doctors or dentists examined children and in some cases provided medications, dental procedures and eye glasses.
